A Look Ahead: Transbay Demolition and Construction Activities



BOMA San Francisco Members:

Weekday Work (3/21/11 – 3/25/11):

Weekday work will take place between Monday, March 21 through Friday, March 25. All contractors will work between the hours of 7:00 AM and 9:00 PM.

Center Terminal Demolition activities, including fill and grading of the site, will continue throughout March between the hours of 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM.

West Terminal Demolition activities will continue with the Crusher/Conveyors operation between the hours of 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM.

Demolition work will continue on the old Bus Ramp from Howard Street towards Folsom Street as well as the old Bus Ramp off Clementina Street. Demolition is ongoing beside Clementina Street with debris processing to continue on these adjacent parcels through the month of March, between the hours of 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM.

Underground utilities work will continue and include:

Continued underground utilities work on Minna and Natoma Streets from First to Second Streets. Continued underground utilities work on Natoma Street from Fremont to First Streets. Continued underground utilities work on Howard Street from Main to First Streets. Continued underground utilities work on Second, First, Fremont and Beale Streets from Mission to Howard Streets. 

Detours, Street and Sidewalk Closure:

Detours:


Minna Street will be closed to through traffic. Shaw alley will be closed due to utility work. Local access will be granted off Second and First Streets and Minna Street will be two-ways during this time.

Natoma Street (500 Howard Block) will be closed to through traffic at First Street. Access will be granted from Second Street, making Natoma Street two-ways during this time. Access may change due to the progression of demolition. All local buildings will be notified before this change occurs. All affected buildings will be granted full access to their parking garages and loading docks.

Natoma Street (400 Howard Block) will be closed to through traffic at Fremont Street. Access will be granted from First Street making Natoma Street two-ways during this time. Access may change due to the progression of demolition. All local buildings will be notified before this change occurs. All affected buildings will be granted full access to their parking garages and loading docks.

Lane restrictions will begin on Clementina Street between Second and First Streets between the hours of 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM. The North side of the street will be closed.

Lane restrictions will remain on Howard Street between Main and First Streets between the hours of 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM.

Lane restrictions will remain on Second and First Streets between Mission and Howard Streets between the hours of 7:00 AM and 3:00 PM.

Lane restrictions will remain on Fremont and Beale Streets between Mission and Howard Streets between the hours of 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM.

Sidewalks:

The Fremont Street east sidewalk will remain closed. Pedestrians must use the west side of Fremont Street until further notice.

Fremont Street west sidewalk - Pedestrians are redirected onto a temporary sidewalk in the west parking lane of Fremont Street until Friday, March 25, to allow for the demolition of the remaining portion of the building and construction of a new temporary sidewalk.

First Street east sidewalk - Pedestrians are redirected onto a temporary sidewalk in the east parking lane of First Street until Friday, March 21 to allow for the demolition of the remaining portion of the building and construction of a new temporary sidewalk.

What to Expect Next Weekend (3/26/11-3/27/11):

Underground utility work continues on Natoma Street between Fremont and Second Streets on Saturday, March 26 between the hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Detours and lane restrictions in effect.

Underground utility work continues on Minna Street between First and Second Streets on Saturday, March 26 between the hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Detours and lane restrictions in effect.

Clementina Street will be closed to through traffic at First Street and Second Street. Local access will be granted from both First Street and Second. There will be a flag person directing access at First and Second Streets. We will notify all affected properties before this change in access is made.

The Crusher/Conveyors operation will be in effect in the West Terminal lot on Saturday, March 26 between the hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
