BOMA San Francisco Energy & Environment Committee Update: PG&E Peak Day Pricing, Rebates and More!

BOMA San Francisco's Energy and Environment Committee held its first meeting of the year on Tuesday, January 5, 2010, where PG&E representatives were on-hand to present information on Peak Day Pricing (PDP), the utility provider's new default rate design.  PDP offers PG&E customers the option of getting power more cheaply most of the time, if they agree to pay higher prices when the utility is facing peak demand.  You can access the comprehensive PDP presentation, here.  If you have any questions regarding the PDP program, please send and email to PeakDayPricing@pge.com.

In addition to the PDP program, BOMA San Francisco members should be aware of the following information:

PDP Energy Management Tools via InterAct (coming soon!)

PG&E's free online energy management system, InterAct, will soon have an interface that allows for PDP rate comparison to help energy users better understand their demand profile.  InterAct provides 15-minute interval, hourly, and daily energy-usage data that allows customers to extract a wealth of information in meeting their energy management objectives.

New Rate Schedule

PG&E has new rates as of January 1, 2010.  The overall rate increase was announced to average approximately 2.9% across all customer catagories.  As you will note on the charts and table, here, the summer peak period energy and demand charges were actually reduced (consistent with BOMA's rate design position) which translates to an increase of only about 1.2% for BOMA members on the E20 and E19 rate schedules - much less than the average rate increase.

Rebates and Partnerships

PG&E has updated their rebate webpage including information regarding custom incentives, retrocommissioning and solar rebates. In addition, PG&E has third party and local government partnerships which are very strong here in San Francisco.  Please click here to start taking advantage of these money saving programs today!

BOMA San Francisco members who have questions or need assistance in navigating the plethora of valuable rebates and incentives available can contact these PG&E representatives:
